What is a doula?

A doula guides families from pre-conception into their postpartum period. We provide physical, emotional, educational and advocacy support to families during the expansion of their families and their new roles. 

Will a doula replace my partner?

A doula is an addition to your care providers and your family. The expertise and care that they give is family centered and catered to you and the people closest to you. We love to include partners as much as possible and as much as their comfort, and yours , allows. 

Is my doula allowed in the hospital during limited visitation due to COVID-19?

Each birthing facility has different policies and guidelines surrounding COVID-19. Your doula can guide you through what accommodations are allowed at your chosen birthing facility.

How do I know what type of visit is best?

When completing your intake questionnaire be as detailed as possible. We can follow up and discuss which service and appointment type is most appropriate.You’re always welcome to send an inquiring e-mail to info@birthandmilkco.com. 

Do you accept insurance? 

Yes! After submitting your appointment request you will be sent a link to verify your insurance coverage for services. Commonly accepted plans include Cigna PPO, BCBS PPO, Anthem PPO, and United PPO.

How can my insurance company reimburse me for your services when you’re not in network? 

After every consult, a superbill outlining the type of services you received, the ICD codes that correspond with those services, and how much you paid will be provided to you. This can be submitted to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
